Wellman Sports brings Velocity Training (link here) to train pitchers to work on increasing velocity and creating habits to stay healthy. Current Milwaukee Brewer farmhand and former UC Berkeley standout, Joey Matulovich, brings his experience with Driveline Baseball to 'The Shop' to help pitchers increase velocity and reduce risk of injury by working on:

  1. Proper Warmup Drills to get the most out of each training session

  2. Overload and Underload Training to remap mechanics to throw harder

  3. Create proper movements through mobility, agility, and flexibility training

  4. Proper Recovery to reduce injury risk and get back to training faster

November to January is our time to work on adding velocity and putting our arms and bodies in a position to take on the workload that the Springtime will require.

About Coach Matulovich
Coach Matulovich, a Danville native, grew up in 'The Shop' working with Wellman Sports coaches and trainers using the same techniques he teaches to go from being a freshman in high school with minimal velocity to throwing 90+, becoming EBAL Pitcher of the Year at San Ramon Valley High School, and earning a scholarship to UC Berkeley. Following his time at UC Berkeley he was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers, where he just finished his third season of professional baseball. Coach Matulovich just returned from training with Driveline Baseball to improve his own game and brings all the newest techniques to this class to help our pitchers.
