The 2004 Tri-ValleyTri-Valley Babe Ruth 13 year old All Star team captured the league’s first World Series title by defeating Beaverton, OR 6-5 on August 21, 2004 in Van Buren, AR. Tri-Valley had defeated North Carolina in the semifinals by a score of 5-1 to advance to the championship game. Earlier in the pool play portion of the tournament TVBR had defeated New Hampshire, Oregon and Arkansas to advance to the championship round.
Nick Bartolone was named the World Series MVP. Matt Meyer and David Hart were named to the all-tournament team and Ryan Glenn, Grant Saunders and Vinny Nittoli were named to the all-defensive team.
Tri-Valley finished the All Star season with an overall record of 17-1. TVBR had dominated the competition in District and Northern California State tournament play to advance to the Pacific Southwest Regional in South Jordan, UT. After defeating Nevada, Tri-Valley rallied to defeat Hawaii 15-10 and Arizona 7-4 to advance to the Regional Championship game. In a rematch with Arizona, TVBR rallied from a first inning 10-1 deficit to win 14-10 and advance to the World Series.
